This is the message that greeted me upon booting up my old notebook after coming home:
The battery is over 4 years old, so it's to be expected ... but what exactly is the problem? I still get over two hours on a charge (not bad for a machine that was rated for 1h40m on battery in 2007), so has the battery simply crossed the expected failure threshold? Even then, why suggest buying a new battery if I still get hours of service with it?
Either way ... this machine will not see any replacement parts. Next month it will be replaced with something shiny, light, and expensive.
