There are a number of words used in Japanese that bring a smile to my face. This isn't because the words are funny or sound strange, but because the English word is something so very different. This happened today as I made my way down the 愛知環状鉄道線1 for the first time. 15 minutes before reaching my destination I happened to pass through 保見駅 (Homi Station). I immediately looked for people in baggy pants with ridiculously long chains all over the place, but couldn't find any.
