This Is What a Tropical Depression Looks Like in Japan

Every morning news show was saying how the tropical depression making its way across the southern part of Japan would continue to dump heavy rain on the area until noon, so imagine my surprise when I took this picture outside my home at 10:30.

I understand that predicting the weather is pretty darn difficult but, if the weather guys can't be accurate within a few hours, why do we spend so much money and energy on understanding the atmosphere?

Either way, this sort of thing certainly made the 800 meter walk from the house to the bus stop a heck of a lot more comfortable.
