Guys seem to lust after young girls. This isn't news by any stretch of the imagination, of course, as this message is used time and again in advertisements, TV commercials, and a number of other places. While this is most likely attributed to guys wishing to be forever young so secretly1 wish to hold on to their youthfulness by paying a great deal of attention to people under the age of 20, what I cannot understand is why people step over the line of watching from afar to prey on these girls. Case in point being something I witnessed on this morning's 98-minute trek to Factory City.
A young woman who couldn't have been more than 17 was sitting with an older man who looked to be a little bit older than me ... perhaps in his early 40s. The two were occupied with their smart phones playing whatever game is popular this week and otherwise looking no different than the other passengers in the vehicle making their way to work, school, and elsewhere. What set these two apart from the other people, though, was the fact that they were holding hands, and the hands were resting pretty high on her thigh. These people weren't strangers. They probably were not related, either. I've never seen a teenage girl holding their father's hand on the train unless nervous, and the hand was usually not resting on the girl's leg.
Could this be some sort of cosplay2? That's certainly a possibility. Could this be exactly what it looks like? This, too, is a possibility. It's really none of my damned business what two people choose to do with each other. What I don't understand, though, is what the two could possibly have in common aside from over-active hormones.
The young girl's voice was annoyingly high-pitched. But perhaps the old guy likes the sound of fingernails on chalkboards.
The young girl's hair has clearly been dyed so often that it's falling out, which explains the stupid wig she was wearing. But perhaps the old guy likes young girls who can't look after their hair3.
The young girl wore an incredible amount of makeup, had fake eyelashes that were comically long, and a constant scowl that would make young children howl in fear. Again, maybe this guy likes this sort of thing.
But why?
I see high school girls running from place to place and talking excitedly to their friends on the train every single day. Perhaps it's just me, but the most attractive high school girls become completely undesirable the moment they speak. It's the way they talk. The way they garble the language. The way the vowels are stretched to breaking point. Somebody ... please ... make it stop.
This is clearly something evolution has done to ensure that older men cannot tolerate being around kids half their age. The urge to procreate can be incredibly strong, but there are limits to what one might put up with for the chance to slip into a love hotel.
Perhaps it's just me that finds women under a certain age (and cognitive ability) absolutely repulsive. None of the members of AKB or any "sister-group" is even remotely interesting. And these groups employ over 200 young girls who seem to enjoy being sought after by hordes of men with unrealistic ideas of what women are actually like.
