Today the wife and I made the trek to see one of the better doctors in the Tokai area for all things related to male fertility. A couple of tests were performed. A few questions were asked. Five years of medical history was reviewed. After a brief discussion about general health the doctor had this to say:
After five years of trying to do things naturally, I don't want to be the one to tell you to 'give up', but ... perhaps it's time you look at the next step.
We've been prepared to hear this for some time, and it was a bit of a disappointment to hear it today. That said, I'm glad the doctor didn't mince words. He was very clear. We knew our options and explained what we were going to do. He helped out by cutting our wait time to start Phase III by over ten weeks1, and let us know that things are not bleak thanks to advances in medical science.
Still ... I had visions of that scene from Up running through my head.
